內容提要:
我的哥哥可不是個普通的人,他是一個三年級生。他一連考了那麼些個滿分,媽媽送他一頂帽子當獎品!這頂帽子的顏色可真藍,漆黑的帽檐亮閃閃,別說把它戴在頭上,就是看看心裡也喜歡。
可是這頂帽子有點奇怪,它的帽檐老是掉下來;媽媽把它縫了又縫,不知道為什麼它總是壞。媽媽叫我跟哥哥一塊兒,看看帽檐怎麼會掉下來,可是哥哥只要一見我,馬上就把我趕開。
今天我偷偷地到了他的學校,這事兒一下子就弄明白,他們七八個三年級生,一出校門就把帽檐扯下來。他們在空地上來回地跑又喊"靠岸"又喊"拋錨",哥哥拿著個望遠鏡--木頭的,四面八方到處瞧。
我還沒決定躲不躲,望遠鏡已經瞄準了我,忽然背後一聲喊,我叫人抓住怎麼也掙不脫。兩個水兵向哥哥敬禮,報告抓到了什麼"奸細",哥哥看也不看我一眼,就下命令把我槍斃。我生氣地說:"我不是什麼奸細,我是你的弟弟!"
可是哥哥皺著眉說:"是奸細就不是弟弟!"這么欺負人還能行?我就又踢又打吵個不停,兩個水兵只好安慰我,說槍斃是假的一點不疼。我說:"反正我不能叫你們槍斃,不管它疼還是不疼;我長大了要當解放軍,隨便說我是奸細就不成!"

小鳥想到樹林里還有許多怕冷的小鳥,就把它們都叫來,一起飛進了老爺爺的帽子。它們非常感謝老爺爺,後來老爺爺天天來看小鳥們,小鳥們每次都唱歌給老爺爺聽。
有一天老爺爺沒有來,原來他病了,小鳥們想「:一定是爺爺把帽子給了我們,自己卻著涼生病了我們趕快給老爺爺做頂帽子吧!」小鳥們就用自己的羽毛做了一頂帽子,送給老爺爺。
老爺爺非常感謝小鳥,後來他的病就很快好了,又再次能聽到小鳥們愉快的歌聲了。

一個賣帽人路過一片森林,決定在一棵樹下小憩一會,他把整籃帽子放在傍邊。過了幾個小時他醒來,發現到他的帽子都不見了。
他抬起頭往上一看,讓他十分吃驚,樹上爬滿了猴子,都戴著他的帽子。他坐下來尋思,怎麼才能把帽子都弄拿回來。
他開始撓頭思考,猴子們也學樣開始撓頭。接下來,他摘下自己的帽子,猴子們也都摘下帽子。他想出一個主意,摘下帽子扔在地上,猴子們也摘下帽子,把它們扔倒地上。就這樣,他成功地把帽子從猴子那裡取了回來。
五十年後,他的孫子也成為一個賣帽人。他聽說過猴子從爺爺拿帽人的故事。有一天,像他爺爺一樣,他路過同一片森林。天很熱,他在同一棵樹下打盹,把帽子都放在地上。
他醒來發現他帽子都被樹上的猴子拿走了。他記起爺爺的話,開始撓頭,猴子們也學樣撓頭。他摘下帽子拿它扇風,猴子們也摘下帽子拿它們扇風。這時候他很信他爺爺的法子,於是把帽子扔在地上,但讓他驚訝的是,猴子們手裡仍拿著帽子,沒有一隻猴仍帽子。
接著有一隻猴爬下樹,抓起地上的帽子,擊打了他一下說道:「你以為只有你有爺爺嗎?」
The Hat Seller and the Monkeys
A hat-seller who was passing by a forest decided to take a nap under one of the trees, so he left his whole basket of hats by the side. A few hours later, he woke up and realized that all his hats were gone.
He looked up and to his surprise, the tree was full of monkeys and they had taken all his hats.sits down and thinks of how he can get the hats down.
While thinking he started to scratch his head. At the moment, the monkeys were doing thesame. Next, he took down his own hat, the monkeys did exactly the same. An idea came to him, he took his hat and threw it on the floor and the monkeys did that too. So he finally managed to get all his hats back.from the monkeys.
Fifty years later, his grandson, also became a hat-seller and had heard this monkey story fromhis grandfather father. One day, just like his grandfather, he passed by the same forest. It was very hot, and he took a nap under the same tree and left the hats on the floor.
He woke up and realized that all his hats were taken by the monkeys on the tree. He remembered his grandfather's words, he started scratching his head and the monkeys followed. He took down his hat and fanned himself and again the monkeys followed. Now, very convinced of his grandfather's idea, he threw his hat on the floor but to his surprise, the monkeys still held on to all the hats.
Then one monkey climbed down the tree, grabbed the hat on the floor, gave him a slap and said, "You think only you have a grandfather?"
